Bimbonita (Ethan Bradford Barrett Villarreal) is a Mexican-American DJ specializing in cumbia, reggaetón, and Spanish-language hip-hop. They also serve as the director of Denver Arts Organized and are on the board of Tilt West, a nonprofit dedicated to community exchange and critical dialogue on art, ideas, and culture. Currently based in Denver, Bimbonita’s family ties to Monterrey, Nuevo León—birthplace of cumbia rebajada—and Iztapalapa, Mexico City, where Mexican reggaetón emerged, have deeply influenced their love for dance music. Drawing from their experiences in all three cities, Bimbonita seamlessly blends the latest releases with reimagined classics from Latin America, performing alongside friends from Neoma, Black Pony Club, and Dirty Little Secret, among others.
